A lesson in authenticity, expressed via the medium of salad:

If this radish wasn’t masquerading as a mushroom, I’d have enjoyed it much more.

Instead, it is devoid of all purpose other than to make me think of (and really want) mushrooms.

I was adamant that I was going to school dressed as a punk.

Heavily influenced by Mary the punk in Eastenders, here’s how I turned out:

Kinda glad I didn’t go for the stone-wash jeans and Disney sweater look…

No shit?

I was never an advocate of such a mismatch, seems I wasn’t alone.

Bad for Graydon and VF but here’s hoping that Bieber and Vanity Fair never buddy up again…

It struck me recently that my love of DIY and renovation has all been very cosmetic.

Thus far I have overhauled my flat by simply adding a new fireplace surround, hanging a reclaimed door, rescuing old furniture and re-upholstering it and focusing purely on my desired overarching colour pallet and creating a light and relaxing bolt hole.

Aside from filling the odd gaping hole and talking off a skirting board, I’ve thus far not actually had a builder in, created a real mess and fundamentally changed the shape of a room – until the weekend.

Yep – I’ve just had my biggest breast reduced!

Big breast reduction

Whilst I still don’t understand the physics of taking bricks out ‘jenga-style’ and the whole breast staying up; I’ve finally started my kitchen renovation.

It’s going to be a slow process but this initial piece of ‘surgery’ has renewed my enthusiasm – the worst is now over.

Now to pull up the flooring and wrench the cupboards off the wall!

We made it to the open air theatre last night to see ‘Lord of the Flies’ but unfortunately the performance was cancelled due to torrential rain.

The set looked amazing.

Gutted.

Stumbled upon this in Norfolk.

Pretty perfect huh?

Upon my weekend travels, I got to watch these adorable lambs find their way:

Super cute, seemingly bright and utterly compelling to watch.

Give cats thumbs.

What a marvellous campaign.

Although I renamed him Barry and coloured his yellow hair in with a brown felt tip, I’ve always been on Ken’s side.

Who else was going to keep Skipper in order whilst Barbie nicked off to the shops in Sindy’s red Range Rover?

OK – so I wasn’t brand loyal back then and whilst Barbie’s yellow caravan was somewhat awesome she just looked better in Sindy’s Range Rover AND in Sindy’s town house – along with my cat Tosca, who loved to sleep on the second floor of Sindy’s house, always disrupting the dining table layout I had spent ages putting together.

Anyway – in the 20 odd years of not interacting with Barbie, I had no idea she broke up with Ken.

Love the reunion campaign regardless.
